Twisted Tower Patch Notes & Guide Updates
Two records in one place: every official Twisted Tower game update since the August 18, 2026 launch, and every revision to this guide. The game shipped on August 18, 2026, our pages get revised whenever a fact gets confirmed or a reader flags a mistake, and both histories are dated so you can see at a glance how current everything is.
Official patch summaries caught up to v1.2 (September 18)
- Added the September 18, 2026 v1.2 update to the official patch notes below, summarized by what it fixed rather than transcribed verbatim.
- The wiki version-history table now lists v1.2, and the guide pages were re-dated to this revision.
Quote attribution fixed, pre-launch timeline completed
- Correction: the weapons page dated the mallet line the developers wrote about bonking a mascot to the August 18 launch post. It comes from the July 8, 2026 release-date announcement, and the page now says so.
- Removed the per-entry attribution labels from the patch list below, since the dates and post titles already carry that information.
- Added the two developer-play posts from February 21, 2025 and October 14, 2025, which completes the pre-launch timeline back to the 2023 announcement trailer.
- Page credits now read as cross-referenced against official Steam listings and patch notes, which is what the checks behind them actually were. The earlier wording implied build testing the site does not run.
Full Steam News history folded in: v1.0.4.3.1, the Discord launch post, and the road to launch
- Added the missing official posts to the patch notes below: the August 21 letter announcing build v1.0.4.3.1 (minor bug fixes, UI clean-up, checkpoint stability) and the localization work now underway, and the August 18 Discord post.
- Added a pre-launch history section covering the dated official posts from the 2023 announcement trailer through launch day, including the 125.4K wishlist milestone and the Black & White Noir Mode reveal from August 10.
- The weapons, puzzles, wiki, and FAQ pages gained the arsenal- and puzzle-relevant facts these posts verify, each with its source date.
Secret-counter answers re-checked against patch v1.0.4.4.2
- The official v1.0.4.4.2 patch of August 25, 2026 fixed the Secret Journal total: older saves that could incorrectly display 27 available secrets are fixed, and every valid route now tracks correctly. The secrets, FAQ, walkthrough, secret-checklist, wiki, and about pages were reworded to state that history instead of describing the counter bug as a current mystery.
- Added the Official Game Patch Notes section to this page, covering every Steam News post for the game (app 1575990) since launch with its date; the announcement text is archived verbatim in this site’s repository.
Platform answer restored to Windows only
- The FAQ and the wiki fact sheet said Twisted Tower runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. That came from a bad store lookup on September 7 and it was wrong. Re-checked against the Steam listing, which shows one Windows entry with no macOS or Linux build and no console edition.
- Both pages now carry the Windows-only answer with a September 9 check date. The mistake is recorded here instead of being quietly patched.
- Second bad claim removed the same day: the beginner guide and FAQ said the game is Steam Deck Verified. The store listing carries no Deck rating at all, so both now state that plainly while keeping the controller support that the listing does confirm (Xbox, DualShock 4, DualSense).
Wiki fact sheet launched
- Launched the wiki fact sheet: studio, publisher, release date, price, platforms, and game structure in one place, each fact with its check date.
- Changed the platform answer after a store lookup. That lookup was in error and was reversed on September 9; the original Windows-only wording was correct.
Compliance pages, cookie notice, and per-page verification dates
- Added the terms and disclaimer pages, and a first-party cookie notice that records accept or decline without gating any script.
- Every guide page now carries a checked-against-the-released-build byline with its last-updated date, and page data in the code carries the same date.
- Deepened the weapons, bosses, collectibles, puzzles, and beginner pages with planning tables built from the facts already verified in this guide: the weapon roster with alternate-fire planning, combat anchors per floor, the locked-route triage table, a puzzle-room triage table, and a map of 15 named achievements onto the route.
- Added the five-floor secret distribution table to the secrets guide and a floor checkpoint table to the walkthrough.
- Style sweep across every page; no game facts changed in this pass.
Secret locations verified & guide cross-links
- Expanded the secrets guide with the verified hiding spots collected so far, and corrected the homepage review snapshot.
- The puzzle, weapon and character pages are now cross-linked from the sections where readers actually get stuck.
- Added this changelog page; every future guide revision will be logged here.
Contact page added
- New contact page for corrections and questions, linked from the site footer.
Post-release facts folded into the main guides
- Expanded the main guide pages with details confirmed since launch, including pricing verified against the Steam store API.
Characters guide & endings rewrite
- Added the characters page covering the cast confirmed by the official materials.
- Rewrote the endings guide around the official story setup and the three leading community theories.
- FAQ updated with the verified launch price and the developers' console-plan answer.
Walkthrough rebuilt & secrets guide launched
- Rebuilt the walkthrough around the released game: the five floors, the four movement unlocks, and the replay modes.
- Launched the secrets guide covering all 28 secret areas across the 18 named journal zones.
Every page moved to released-game status
- Twisted Tower released on Steam the day before. All guide pages were swept and updated to reflect the shipped game: achievements, difficulty options, and confirmed story facts replaced every pre-release placeholder.
Site launch
- Twisted Tower Guide went live at twistedtowerguide.wiki. Every guide was written from official Steam materials and verified coverage, and the site moved to its final domain the same day.
Official Game Patch Notes
LAST VERIFIED: September 23, 2026, against the Steam News feed for Twisted Tower (Steam app 1575990).
Every official update post since launch, summarized without padding, newest first. Each entry carries its publication date and the exact title of the announcement, and the announcement text itself is archived verbatim in this site’s repository.
Update Notes For 9/18/26 Patch (Version 1.2)
- Progression and secrets: the Hotel secrets were fixed, older-save progress tracking now carries over correctly, and the Secret Safari unlock was restored. The Floor 1 exit, puzzle-key matching, and a death pit on Floor 2 were corrected. The Spider Mother arena now registers completion properly, the Casino door no longer stays shut after a death, and the Cupid loveseat placement, saving, and prompt were fixed. Adventure Plus playtime and Hard-mode checkpoint health were adjusted.
- Movement and input: stray movement and input during pausing, dialogue, cutscenes, and loading were cleaned up, along with sliding, crouching, jumping, air-dash, and narrow-ledge movement. The player collision that enemy projectiles are meant to hit was restored, and repeated interactions or dropping a held item by accident no longer happen.
- Weapons and combat: underwater attacks and weapon-swap states were fixed, along with the Tommy Gun and Miss Fire special abilities. The Sling Snipe no longer crashes when fired empty and its missing projectile is back, wasted ammo pickups were removed, the Gumball Globe ammo display was corrected, and the Lightspeed phone enemies now share a death state.
- Interface and carts: the weapon wheel now pauses televisions and dialogue, the cart can be paused, and cart controls were fixed. Key-binding scrolling and labels, gamepad language navigation, and the FOV readout (now shown in degrees) were corrected.
- Presentation and audio: the Black and White picture and low-health effect while using treats were fixed, along with dialogue skipping and flicker, voice playback, distant impact sounds, the mallet sound effect, and the spider chase music. Button lights and leftover lights and music were cleaned up, and the menu logo, tape artwork, subtitles, journal text, credits, and typos were corrected.
The Twisted Tower Soundtrack is OUT NOW!
- Not a game patch: the official announcement that the Twisted Tower soundtrack is now available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.
- Credits the score to Quinten Coblentz, with Chandler Anderson, Matt Rexford, and Thomas Brush also lending their talents to individual tracks.
- The post highlights the track “Your Love Was Never Mine,” which grew from a hummed voice memo into an authentic 1940s jazz song with live vocals, violins, and brass.
Twisted Tower (v 1.0.4.4.2) Patch
- Progression, secrets, and saving: the Secret Journal total was fixed so every valid route correctly tracks secrets; older saves whose outdated route information could incorrectly display 27 available secrets were fixed; secret-route tracking across Adventure Plus was improved so secrets remain assigned to the path and area where they were actually found; several backtracking gates in the Exterior and alternate Clown Casino routes were fixed; redundant backup-save creation during repeated scene transitions was reduced while normal checkpoint and transition saves were preserved; the save indicator now stays visible during very fast saves and scene transitions.
- Controls and interface: mouse aiming consistency improved, including diagonal movement and rapid input events; default mouse sensitivity and smoothing values updated; the camera FOV now updates immediately after display settings are reset; menus no longer react to pointer, keyboard, or controller input while the game is unfocused; the Journal no longer opens while weapon-wheel slow motion is active; Black and White Mode was extended to the HUD, menus, text, and other overlay interface elements.
- Gameplay and combat: the dash no longer occasionally fails to refresh when landing; ammo collected during a reload is no longer lost when the reload completes; weapon firing cooldowns no longer reset when rapidly swapping weapons; clipless weapons no longer attempt to reload after firing; the Tommy Gun’s special attack no longer consumes ammunition beyond the currently loaded magazine; the Exterior Sling Snipe can no longer be collected through a wall; teleporter activations, player-cart collision on quick exits, physics props activating twice from a single push, an invalid physics setup on a Hotel entrance rope, a television collider that could trap the player, detached fire-extinguisher particles, and the delayed low-health treat flash were all fixed; an unintended Chapter 1 grapple-puzzle shortcut was closed.
- Visuals and performance: fog across Chapters 1–3 was optimized and adjusted, NPC head tracking was tweaked, and the Exterior scene, collision, and visuals got further cleanup.
- What it means for your run: pre-patch saves could show a Journal counter capped at 27; on v1.0.4.4.2 every valid route tracks correctly. We re-checked our secret-hunting pages against this patch. See the secrets guide and the interactive checklist.
Letters from the Tower...

The Road to Launch: Official Posts Before Release
These dated posts come from the same Steam News feed, which reaches back to the 2023 announcement.
Twisted Tower - Announcement Trailer
The first official post, published by 3D Realms: it announced a publishing cooperation with Thomas Brush of Atmos Games for Twisted Tower, described as a tower where every twisting floor has a variety of paths to choose, horrifying enemies, and clues about your dark past.
The Twisted Tower demo is officially live and ready to play!
Thomas Brush announced the free demo (Steam app 2506090), wrote that he had been working on the game for three years with a crew of 3D artists and his publisher 3D Realms, and named his inspirations: BioShock, Disney World, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. He also said the project started as a completely different concept and that nearly every asset was disposed of two or three times over before the game found its shape.
Watch the developer play Twisted Tower
A short post from Thomas Brush inviting players to watch him play his own game, signed with the line that he is the creator of Twisted Tower.
In preparation for launch, watch the developer play Twisted Tower
The same developer-play invitation, reposted ahead of launch with the same wording.
Twisted Tower is officially launching on August 18th, 2026
The launch date post. Brush confirmed the August 18, 2026 release, described five years of development, and introduced the game as a haunting action adventure set inside a forgotten 1950s amusement resort, with toy-inspired weapons you upgrade as you climb toward the summit.
8 days until Twisted Tower launches!
The final-stretch post reported 125.4K wishlists on Steam, revealed the Black & White “Noir” Mode as a brand-new addition, and said the score had been completely reworked since the demo.
Twisted Tower is Out Now!
The launch post: the game is available on PC with a 10% launch discount on Steam, and the store description names the corrupted fairy-tale mascots, the arsenal of bizarre weapons, the hotel, waterpark, and clown casino locations, and a world that changes with every playthrough.
How Pages Get Researched & Revised
- Facts come from official materials first. Steam store listings, the developer FAQ, and the shipped game itself are the primary basis for every claim on this site.
- Unconfirmed things are labeled. Where sources differ, like the Journal counter readings that differed between builds before and after the v1.0.4.4.2 patch, we say so in the page instead of picking a number.
- Corrections go out fast. Spotted something wrong or outdated? Email sonic6640@gmail.com. Fixes land within days, and the change is logged here.
